The purpose of the Commission on the Status of Women is to see that women who reside or work within the city have full opportunity to serve in every capacity as equal participants in the economy, in the system of justice, and in all other aspects of community life. To this purpose, the Commission shall gather and distribute information, make recommendations for legislative action, and act as a referral center for cases of alleged discrimination practices.
