The city is hereby authorized to mark traffic lanes upon the roadway of any street or highway where a regular alignment of traffic is necessary. There shall be no work on highways under the jurisdiction of the Indiana State Highway Commission unless specifically requested to perform such work by authorized representatives of the Commission.
