(A) The City Electrician shall establish such regulations, standards, and wiring practices as are necessary for the proper safety and protection of all consumers of electrical service of the city’s electric plant and any other electrical service provider to structures within the city’s zoning jurisdiction. Except as specifically provided in division (B) below, such regulations, standards, and wiring practices will be supplemental to this code and the National Electrical Code, and in no case shall violate or supersede this code, nor shall they conflict with the provisions of the latest revision of the National Electrical Code, which is hereby adopted as a basic regulatory standard.
(B) All services 400 amps and under, utilizing a single meter or current transformer (CT) cabinet with disconnecting-means, shall be at a readily accessible point outside the building or structure and associated with the meter socket. Services above 400 amps, the disconnecting-means may be located inside the structure per the National Electric Code. Minimum height of six feet to the top of meter base from finished grade. Service disconnect must be at a minimum height of 18 inches from finished grade.
