§ 35.29 AMBULANCE AND MAJOR RESCUE EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT FUND.
   (A)   A fund is hereby established, to be known as the Ambulance and Major Rescue Equipment Replacement Fund, which shall be a separate fund and shall be maintained by the Clerk-Treasurer.
   (B)   From and after December 31, 2016, the Clerk-Treasurer must deposit all funds received, from whatever source, payable to the city for ambulance runs and rescue service, as follows:
      (1)   One-third to the Ambulance and Major Rescue Equipment Replacement Fund;
      (2)   Two-thirds to the city’s general fund.
   (C)   In addition thereto, from July 1, 1981, to and including June 30, 1982, those funds as are received by the city for ambulance runs and rescue service which have previously been credited to Union and Franklin Townships, by the city’s agreement with said townships dated December 30, 1974, shall also be deposited in the Ambulance and Major Rescue Equipment Replacement Fund, by the Clerk-Treasurer.
   (D)   The money received into the Ambulance and Major Rescue Equipment Replacement Fund shall be used by the city for the purchase of new ambulances and major rescue equipment; the Board of Public Works and Safety is hereby authorized to purchase ambulances and major rescue equipment as may be needed by the city, as funds become available therefor, using the moneys received into the Ambulance and Major Equipment Replacement Fund to pay for such equipment.
   (E)   The Board of Public Works and Safety shall cause to be drawn proper specifications for any new major equipment or ambulances to be purchased, and advertise for bids when required, and shall submit the proper vouchers and warrants to the Clerk-Treasurer for purchases made pursuant to this section.
