§ 93.25 FIRE ALARM REQUIREMENTS.
   (A)   General. This section may cover installation and maintenance of all manual and automatic fire alarm systems in new and existing structures.
   (B)   Monitoring.
      (1)   Fire alarm systems required by 675 I.A.C. 13, 675 I.A.C. 22 or this section installed after the effective date of this section will be monitored as set forth under the rules of the FPBSC.
      (2)   The Fire Department's emergency communications center will immediately be notified upon activation of any fire alarm by telephone, except with a supervised fire drill or periodic testing of the system, installed after the effective date of this section.
   (C)   Faulty or false alarms.
      (1)   Whenever the Fire Department responds to an automatic fire alarm at a premise or building over three times in a calendar year due to improper alarm installation, lack of maintenance, servicing, improper construction or maintenance work, or failure to notify the Fire Department of a drill or test, a fee/fine as approved by the City Council will be imposed.
      (2)   Notwithstanding division (C)(1), whenever the Fire Department responds to a false alarm that is set by a person knowingly or intentionally when a reasonable person otherwise would not do so a fine will be imposed and a report of the false alarm will be made to the Police Department.
   (D)   Remote fire alarm annunciator panels. When a fire alarm is required by the Indiana Fire Code to be installed, a zoning panel and associated controls will be provided at the entrance the Fire Department will use as their main entrance point to the building.
