For purposes of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ALARM SITE. A single premises or street address served by one or more alarm system. Each tenant unit in a multi-unit structure or complex shall be considered a separate alarm aite if served by separate alarm systems.
ALARM SYSTEM. Any assembly of mechanical or electrical equipment installed and maintained to signal the Police Department of a burglary, robbery, or other unauthorized entry occurring or about to occur at an alarm site, including equipment which signals the Department through a third-party central alarm station.
ALARM USER. The person(s) or entity having possession and control of an alarm site. If a premises is occupied and used by a person or entity other than the owner, such person or entity shall be considered the alarm user.
AUTOMATIC DIALING DEVICE. Any device connected to an alarm system which automatically sends a prerecorded message or code signal over telephone lines, indicating the activation of the alarm system to a predetermined location.
BURGLARY. The acts described in IC 35-43-2-1.
CHIEF OF POLICE. The Chief of the Crawfordsville Police Department or his authorized agent.
FALSE ALARM. The activation of an alarm system that results in notification of, and a response by, the Police Department when the responding officer, on reasonable investigation, finds no evidence of actual or attempted unauthorized intrusion.
PERSON. An individual, partnership, corporation, or other legal entity.
POLICE DEPARTMENT. The Police Department of the city or an authorized agent of the Department.
ROBBERY. The acts described in IC 35-42-5-1.
