505.04 ANIMAL BITES; REPORTS AND QUARANTINE.
   Whenever any animal bites any person, the Health Commissioner or his representative may order the animal quarantined for a period extending not longer than ten days from the time of the biting. The owner of the animal may also be ordered to have performed the necessary tests to determine whether rabies exists. No owner or person in custody or possession of the animal shall fail to comply with the quarantine or testing order. All expenses incurred for the keeping of the animal or the necessary tests to determine whether rabies exists, shall be borne exclusively by the owner or keeper of the animal. No person, having knowledge of the existence of any rabies or the fact that any animal has bitten any other person, shall fail to immediately report the information to a law enforcement officer or the Health Commissioner.
