(a) The Service-Safety Director or his designee is hereby authorized to establish handicapped parking spaces for residences located in the City.
(b) Applications for a handicapped parking space at a residence shall be made to the City Service-Safety Director and shall include:
(1) The applicant’s name.
(2) The applicant’s address and phone number.
(3) The name of person(s) living in the home who is (are) handicapped.
(4) Proof that the applicant has a handicapped sticker issued by the State of Ohio.
(5) A copy of the automobile registration.
(6) There shall be no fee for application or renewal but all permits must be renewed annually during the month of October.
(c) The residential handicapped parking policy is not applicable if off-street parking is available for the residence, or if the applicant lives on a street which is designated as “no parking.” If the applicant lives on the side of the street which is designated as “no parking” the City reserves the right to determine if handicap space is feasible. Only one parking location shall be permitted per household.
(d) The placement and installation of the sign will be done by the City.
(e) Any person making a false application shall be fined not less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00).
