1333.05 PUBLISHED NOTICE TO REMOVE WEEDS AND/OR HIGH GRASS.
   The City shall cause the following notice to be published twice a year:
The owner of a vacant lot, commons, or other unoccupied or occupied property within the City is hereby required to cut, mow, keep down, or remove, all tall, unsightly or noxious weeds, vines or grass on the property, the weeds, vines and grass being deemed a breeding place for rats, mosquitoes and other insects and being unsafe, unhealthy and a nuisance. The Director of Public Safety and Service shall cause to be published twice yearly in a newspaper of general circulation within the City, once a week for two consecutive weeks, commencing on the first week of April and on the second week of September, a notice that all owners of vacant lots or commons, or other unoccupied or occupied property within the City shall cut, mow, keep down, or remove all tall, unsightly, or noxious weeds, vines or grass on any such property. On failure of the owner to act after being notified by publication, law enforcement officers shall cause a complaint to be issued noting violations of this section. Fines collected under the penalty section of this chapter for violation of this section shall be paid to the Director of Public Safety and Service to be used for corrective measures. (Ord. 34-22.
