159.09 CONSTRUCTION; SEPARABILITY.
   (a)   The provisions of this chapter shall be construed liberally for the accomplishment of the purposes thereof. Nothing contained in this chapter is intended to conflict with any general law of the State or of the United States and particularly with the statutes providing for the administration of the law by the Ohio Civil Rights Commission under Ohio R. C. 4112.01 through 4112.99. This chapter shall not be applicable in matters involving persons and practices which have come under the jurisdiction of the Ohio Civil Rights Commission by the filing of a complaint with such Commission.
   (b)   If any of the provisions of this chapter, or any portion thereof, or the application of such provision or portion thereof to any person or circumstance is held to be invalid, the remainder of this chapter and its application to persons or circumstances other than those to which it is held to be invalid shall not be affected thereby.
