§ 50.098 METERING DEVICE FOR SWIMMING POOLS.
   Owners of swimming pools have the option of reading the water meter before filling a pool and after the pool is filled and bringing the reading to the City Office in order to receive an adjustment of their sewer bill within ten (10) days of filling the pool. A sewer bill adjustment for filling a swimming pool may only be granted one (1) time per calendar year per sewer customer. Sewer adjustments for filling a swimming pool shall be granted in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the sewer bill attributable to the filling of the swimming pool, except in no event shall the monthly bill be reduced to an amount less than the base sewer rate or minimum monthly charge provided in the sewer rate ordinance. In order to receive the adjustment, the sewer customer shall, within ten (10) days of filling the pool provide evidence satisfactory to the city establishing the amount of water used in filling the pool. Sewer bill adjustments for water leaks may be granted in the discretion of the Mayor on a case by case basis year per sewer customer upon a showing that a leak occurred on the portion of the water lines and facilities for which the customer has responsibility and that the leaked water did not go into the sanitary sewer. Questionable requests may be brought before the City Council for a decision on whether to grant the request. All leak adjustment requests after the first such request must be brought before City Council for a decision on whether to grant the request.
