§ 93.07  CARE AND REMOVAL.
   (A)   The municipality shall have the right to plant, prune, maintain, or remove street trees or park trees within the lines of all streets, alleys, avenues, lanes, squares, and public grounds, as may be necessary to ensure public safety or to preserve or enhance the symmetry and beauty of such public grounds.
   (B)   The Village Board may remove or cause or order to be removed any street tree or park tree or part thereof which is in an unsafe condition or which, by reason of its nature, is injurious to sewers, electric power lines, gas lines, water lines, or other public improvements, or is affected with an injurious fungus, insect, or other pest.
   (C)   No person or property owner shall remove any live street tree or park tree for any reason without written permission of the Village Board. Utility companies may remove trees or parts thereof which are injurious to their utility lines at their expense upon obtaining permission for such removal or trimming from the Village Board. This section does not prohibit the planting of street trees by abutting property owners providing that the selection and location of said trees is in accordance with §§ 93.02 through 93.06.
