(a) Whenever the Fire Chief or designated inspector issues a citation or order under the authority of the Ohio Fire Code as adopted herein, the responsible person may file an appeal with the State Board of Building Appeals in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 119, 3737 and 3781 of the Ohio Revised Code including Sections 3737.43 and 3781.19 of the Ohio Revised Code.
(b) Whenever the Fire Chief or designated inspector issues a violation order or citation utilizing the Cortland Fire Prevention Code and it is claimed by the responsible person as defined herein that the Provisions of the code do not apply or have been wrongly interpreted, the responsible person may file an appeal with the Cortland City Council, within thirty days from the date of the decision appealed, or as otherwise provided by law.
