1501.06 ESTABLISHMENT AND DUTIES OF TilE FIRE PREVENTION BUREAU.
   (a)    There is hereby established a Fire Prevention Bureau within the City of Cortland Fire Department.
   (b)    The Fire Prevention Bureau shall have as its duty, the enforcement of the Cortland Fire Prevention Code and the Ohio Fire Code as adopted herein. It shall be the duty of the members of the Fire Prevention Bureau to cause the correction of hazardous conditions, issue violation notices, citations, and/or cause the arrest of any person or persons violating the provisions of the Cortland Fire Code and the Ohio Fire Code and to prosecute such offenders before the proper jurisdiction or courts.
   (c)    The officer or firefighter in charge of the Fire Prevention Bureau shall be appointed by, and report to the Chief of the Cortland Fire Department. All actions of the officer or firefighter in charge of the Fire Prevention Bureau, and all designated inspectors shall be subject to the authority of the Chief of the Fire Department.
   (d)    The Chief of the Cortland Fire Department and the designated fire inspectors shall have the authority to enforce the Cortland Fire Code and the Ohio Fire Code (OFC), including appendixes and standards as adopted herein.
   (e)    The Chief of the Cortland Fire Department may detail such qualified members of the Fire Department as inspectors when necessary.
   (f)    A report of the enforcement activities by the Fire Prevention Bureau shall be made annually and transmitted to Council. Such report shall contain all proceedings under this Code, with such statistics as the Chief of the Fire Department may wish to include therein. The Chief of the Fire Department shall also recommend any amendments to the Code which, in his judgment, shall be desirable.
