§ 150.38 REPLACEMENT OF PAVEMENT.
   (A)   For bituminous patches, the material used shall be a hot-mixed and hot-applied asphaltic concrete meeting the state’s Department of Highways specifications for FJ-1 or 1D-2 surface course or 1D-2 base course. The compacted thickness shall be a minimum of three inches.
   (B)   The following procedure shall be followed for all bituminous patches.
      (1)   The sides of the original paving shall be cleaned and covered with a thin coat of cutback asphalt, such as RC-1.
      (2)   The patch material will be raked into the edges and mounded high enough so that when compacted it will form a smooth surface, flush with the original paving.
      (3)   The finished patch shall be protected from traffic for not less than six hours.
      (4)   The joint around the patch shall be sealed with a surface application of suitable asphaltic sealer.
   (C)   For concrete paving, the same procedure shall be followed as in division (B) above, with the additional provision that any joints in the original concrete paving shall be carried through the patch.
   (D)   For brick paving, the brick shall be replaced with good workmanship on a one-half inch course of sand over a concrete base. The concrete base shall be installed in accordance with § 150.37. Asphaltic concrete patches over a concrete base or concrete patches six inches thick may be installed in brick streets if approved by the City Engineer.
