(A) The fine for violation of any provision of this chapter shall be $15 if payment is made to the Police Department within 72 hours after the offense. After the expiration of 72 hours from the date of the offense, the fine shall be $20.
(B) If the fine is not paid within five days after a notice is sent by the Police Department directing the offender to pay the necessary at the Police Department, then the parking ticket shall be referred to the Magisterial District Court, and upon conviction thereof in a summary proceeding be sentenced to pay a fine of $50 plus cost of prosecution. In default of such payment of fine, such person shall be liable to imprisonment for not more than five days.
(C) Notwithstanding the above, the Mayor may provide central boxes or receptacles and may permit persons who have violated the metered time limit parking provisions of this chapter to deposit $1 in such boxes or pay at the police station within such period after the violation as the Mayor may designate, and the payment of such $1 shall be in lieu of all other penalties herein provided for metered overtime parking.
