(A) The city’s Police Department, under the direction of the Mayor, be authorized to place the “speed check” device on any street within the city for the purpose of monitoring vehicle speed and issuing citations to those persons found to be in violation of the legally posted speed on said streets.
(B) The electrical speed timing device used by the Police Department shall be maintained and certified at regular intervals according to the state’s Department of Transportation Regulations.
