(1) All wreckers shall be inspected at least annually to ensure that they comply with the requirements of the administrative regulations of the Cookeville Police Department. The designee of the chief of police will schedule the date and time the inspections shall be made.
(2) A police officer is authorized by this chapter to stop a wrecker operating on the streets of the City of Cookeville when the mechanical appearance of the vehicle so warrants or to inspect said vehicle for compliance with the administrative regulations of the Cookeville Police Department. If said officer finds the vehicle to be in noncompliance with this chapter, he or she shall notify the on duty shift commander. The shift commander may place the wrecker out of service until repairs have been made and the vehicle has been re-inspected as provided in § 15-807. (Ord. #O17-10-19, Dec. 2017)
