The owner of any property abutting or adjacent to the street or sidewalk shall have a duty to maintain all lawns, shrubs, trees from the center of the alleyway to the center of the street. Trees shall be trimmed so as not to hang less than sixteen feet (16') above the street or twelve feet (12') over the sidewalk or boulevard. Grass shall be mowed and maintained in accord with title 6, chapter 5 of this code, and shrubs, flowers and trees shall be trimmed and maintained in such a fashion that they do not unduly encroach on the sidewalk or street. Any person violating this provision shall be subject to the penalties set forth in sections 6-5-3 and 6-5-5 of this code. (Ord. 389, 8-16-2004)
