A proclamation of Council honoring individuals, business entities, service/civic groups or other organizations for their contribution to the betterment of Conneaut or outstanding service to their community shall be issued upon the request of a member of Council. Said request shall be presented in writing to the President of Council stating its intention. Said proclamation shall be read in public session and become part of the public record. After said reading, if no objections are brought forward, the proclamation shall then be issued on behalf of the City of Conneaut. If a member of Council states an objection to the issuance of the proclamation, the President will call for a vote, and the question shall be decided by the majority of votes cast.
