959.07 RECYCLING.
   (a)   Any contractor collecting residential garbage and refuse in the City shall offer "source separated, single stream" collection of recyclable materials to each residence at no cost for the following items listed. The contractor shall pick up recyclables in a container with a lid marked "recyclables", and/or in a container provided by the contractor. Recyclable materials include:
      (1)   Cardboard
      (2)   Paperboard products (cereal boxes, food containers)
      (3)   Newspaper
      (4)   Mixed paper
      (5)   Junk mail
      (6)   Magazines
      (7)   Office paper
      (8)   Brown, clear, and green glass
      (9)   Steel and tin beverage and food containers
      (10)   Aluminum beverage and food containers
      (11)   Plastic beverage and food containers ( # 1-#2)
      (12)   Aluminum tin foil and food containers
      (13)   Plastic beverage and food containers (#3-#7)
   (b)    The City Manager may waive any item in the list in (a) above for all haulers in the event that any such item is not accepted by a recycling facility within a reasonable distance until such time as such facility agrees to accept such item.
   (c)    The City Manager may adjust the list of recyclable items on an annual basis in the event any such item is no longer being accepted generally for recycling.
   (d)    The contractor shall provide written notice to the City of the name and location of the company to which it is taking its recyclables described above, and shall submit documentary verification that it is in fact unloading its recyclable at such site.
