943.06 DISCONTINUANCE OF SERVICE.
Any consumer wishing to discontinue water service must give notice to the office of the Water Department at least two (2) working days prior to service being terminated. Such person must be the same person that authorized the service in the beginning or his legal representative. Such consumer must also make a statement that there are no other persons living in such residence that will be adversely affected by the discontinuance of service. If that consumer indicated that there is a person living at the residence that will be adversely affected by such discontinuance, he shall provide the name and address of such person to the Water Department. The Water Department shall provide notice to that person that the water is to be turned off, and shall give such person thirty (30) days notice that he or she must come in and register his or her name and make the required application as stated in Section A of these Rules and Regulations. In no instance will water service be terminated by the Water Department until it has taken reasonable steps to assure that persons adversely affected by the discontinuance of this water service under the above circumstances have had ample time to contact the Water Department and have the service put in their name. Until the above requirements are fulfilled, the responsibility for the water bill remain with the person who initially requested the service.
