(a) The procedure for the payment of salaries of the Council members of the Village of Commercial Point is established.
(b) The Council members will be paid annually on or before December 31 of each calendar year.
(c) The salary for the members of the Council commencing January 1, 2022 shall be set at the sum of $75 per meeting of Council attended.
(d) The salary for the President Pro Tempore of the Council commencing January 1, 2022 shall be set at the sum of $80 for each meeting of Council attended.
(e) Council members shall only be compensated for meetings actually attended and pursuant to Ohio R.C. § 731.13, the compensation so fixed pursuant to this section shall not be increased or diminished and this section shall have no effect upon those members of the Council of the Village of Commercial Point during the term for which such member was elected or appointed and this section will not be effective upon each individual Council member until such time as he or she is re-elected. This section, however, shall be effective immediately upon passage and approval for those members of the Council of the Village of Commercial Point elected or appointed after such date of approval.
(f) Members of Council may waive all or a portion of the salary set forth in divisions (c) and (d) above.
(g) For purpose of this division, MEETING OF COUNCIL is defined as a special meeting of Council or a regular meeting of Council per R.C. § 731.46, or a Committee of the Whole Meeting, so long as the Committee of the Whole Meeting occurs on a separate day from a special or regular meeting of Council.
