The Board of Zoning Appeals shall consist of five members appointed by the Mayor and Council. Each member shall be appointed for three years, except that two of the initial members shall be appointed for two years. In the event of the death or resignation of a member, the Mayor, with the approval of Council, shall make an appointment for the duration of the unexpired term of the member. Members of the Board shall be residents of the municipality and shall serve without compensation. This section shall have no effect on the status of the Board existing on the date of the passage of this Zoning Code (Ordinance 74-O-128, passed October 17, 1974), but shall regulate all appointments made after the effective date of this Zoning Code.
