Upon receipt of a lost or stray animal bearing a current tag or other identification, the Animal Control Officer shall notify the owner of the record, by telephone or at the address indicated on the license form, of the location of the animal. Compliance with notice requirements of this chapter shall be deemed as met if the Animal Control Officer has spoken with the owner or owner’s representative by telephone or mailed the notice at his or her address of record.
