No person shall be cruel to any animal. Cruelty to an animal shall consist of one of the following acts:
A. By overloading, overdriving, overworking, cruelly beating, torturing, tormenting, mutilating, or cruelly killing any animal or causing or knowingly allowing the same to be done.
B. By unnecessary failing to provide any animal in his/her charge or custody as owner or otherwise, with proper food, drink, shelter and air.
C. By abandoning any animal in a pound, veterinary clinic, or on the premises of another. (1997 Code)
Anyone found guilty of violating this section shall be subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this Code. (Ord. 0-19-01, 2-25-2019)
