3-2-14: MINORS:
   A.   Purchase Or Obtaining Prohibited: It shall be unlawful for any person under the legal age as defined by the state to be in possession of any alcoholic liquor in any place in the city. Any person convicted of a violation of this provision shall be subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code.
   B.   Possession: It shall be unlawful for any person under the legal age as defined by the state to be in possession of any alcoholic liquor in any place in the city. Any person convicted of a violation of this provision shall be subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code.
   C.   Misrepresentation Of Age: It shall be unlawful for any person under legal age as defined from time to time by the state to misrepresent his or her age for the purpose of purchasing or obtaining alcoholic liquor in any tavern or other place in the city where alcoholic liquor is sold.
   D.   Presence Prohibited:
      1.   It shall be unlawful for any holder of a retailer's liquor license or his/her agent or employee to suffer or permit any minor to remain in any room or compartment adjoining or adjacent to or situated in the room or place where such licensed premises is located; provided, that this subsection shall not apply to any minor who is accompanied by his or her parent or guardian, or to any licensed premises which derives its principal business from the sale of, or services of, commodities other than alcoholic liquor. In addition to all other fines and penalties, the local liquor control commissioner may revoke or suspend the retail liquor license for any violation of this subsection.
      2.   No person under the age of twenty one (21) shall frequent any tavern or other place in the city where alcoholic liquor is sold.
   E.   Parental Responsibility: It shall be unlawful for any parent or guardian to permit any minor child of which he or she may be the parent or guardian to violate any of the provisions of this section.
   F.   Sale, Gift Or Delivery Prohibited: It shall be unlawful to sell, give or deliver alcoholic liquor to any minor.
   G.   Display Of Warning: In every tavern or other place in the city where alcoholic liquor is sold there shall be displayed at all times in a prominent place a printed card which shall read substantially as follows:
WARNING TO PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 21
Under the ordinances of the City of Colona, any person under the age of 21 years who, for the purpose of buying, accepting or receiving alcoholic liquor, beer or wine represents that he or she is 21 years of age or over shall be subject to a fine of up to $200.00.

   H.   Consumption: It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of twenty one (21) to consume alcohol beverages in the city.
      1.   The penalty for violating this subsection shall fall under the general penalty provisions.
      2.   This offense shall also be included as a no contest option. The no contest fine is one hundred dollars ($100.00). (Ord. 00-08, 2-28-2000)
