5-3-1: DEFINITIONS:
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE: A passenger car or truck that was manufactured in 1925 or before, or a passenger car or truck that is at least thirty five (35) years old.
AUTOMOBILE: Every motor vehicle of the type constructed and used for the transportation of persons.
COLLECTOR: The owner of one or more antique or special interest automobiles who collects, purchases, acquires, trades or disposes of special interest or antique automobiles or parts of them for personal use in order to restore, preserve and maintain an antique or special interest automobile for historic interest.
DEMOLISHER: A person whose business is to convert an automobile into processed scrap or scrap metal, or otherwise to wreck or dismantle automobiles.
DEPARTMENT: The office of the city inspector.
JUNKED AUTOMOBILE: A motor vehicle:
   A.   That is inoperative.
   B.   That does not have lawfully affixed to it an unexpired license plate; that is wrecked, dismantled, partially dismantled or discarded.
   C.   That remains inoperable for a continuous period of more than forty five (45) days.
SPECIAL INTEREST AUTOMOBILE: An automobile of any age which has not been altered or modified from original manufacturer's specifications and, because of its historic interest, is being preserved by hobbyists. (1991 Code § 13-71; amd. Ord. 852, 4-23-2002)
