(A) Any customer who is delinquent on their combined water/sewer bill and is subject to disconnection for nonpayment thereof must be notified of the impending disconnection and the customer’s right to a hearing to determine the appropriateness of the disconnection.
(B) If a customer desires to request a hearing to contest disconnection, the customer must request such hearing within seven days after the date of the mailing of a disconnection notice.
(C) The hearing shall be held before the Clerk-Treasurer (or his or her designee) and the customer shall be notified of the hearing date and time. The Clerk-Treasurer (or his or her designee) shall render a decision on the appeal (modify, uphold or reverse the shut-off order) within one business day of the hearing.
(D) The form attached to Resolution 2014-6, passed 10-21-2014, shall be used to notify customers of an impending disconnection and the customer’s right to request a hearing.
