§ 114.06 VEHICLE FOR HIRE INFORMATION AND IDENTIFICATION.
   (A)   No taxi operator or owner shall be issued a vehicle for hire business permit unless the color scheme of the taxi is distinctly different from that of any other taxi operator or owner's taxi. Each vehicle for hire shall bear on the outside on each side of the vehicle, in painted or permanently affixed vinyl letters not less than two inches or more than four inches in height, the name of the owner; and, in addition, may bear an identifying design approved by the Board of Appeals. No vehicle covered by the terms of this chapter shall be permitted whose identifying design, monogram, or insignia to be used thereon shall, in the opinion of the Board of Appeals conflict with or imitate any identifying design, monogram or insignia used on a vehicle or vehicles already operating under the chapter, in such a manner as to be misleading or tend to deceive or defraud the public: and provided further, that if, after a permit has been issued for taxicab hereunder, the identifying design, monogram, or insignia thereof is changed so as to be in the opinion of the Board of Appeals in conflict with or imitate any identifying design, monogram, or insignia used by any other person, owner or operator, in such a manner as to be misleading or tend to deceive the public, the permit of such vehicle(s) for hire shall be suspended or revoked.
   (B)   It shall be a violation of this chapter for a vehicle for hire owner, operator or driver to operate a vehicle, regardless of whether such vehicle is actually being operated as a vehicle for hire, that bears the insignia or the name of a permitted vehicle for hire business unless such vehicle is one identified by and included in the business' vehicle for hire permit issued by the city pursuant to this chapter. This prohibition includes vehicles being operated for advertising or marketing purposes only.
