§ 50.09  SPECIAL REFUSE AND HAZARDOUS WASTE.
   (A)   Town reserves right to deny service. The town reserves the right to deny refuse collection service for refuse which the Director determines to be hazardous and to require the owner to properly dispose of it by other means. No person shall deposit or cause to be deposited in any refuse container which is serviced by the town, anything which will be dangerous or hazardous to the town’s collection equipment or a threat to the health, safety and welfare of the town employees or general public.
   (B)   Placement in properly marked container. Hazardous wastes shall be placed in a proper container and plainly and properly marked. The Director shall be notified and shall instruct the owner as to the proper disposition of such waste.
   (C)   Explosives. Explosives such as arms ammunition, war souvenirs or explosive items or power of any kind and highly inflammable materials shall not be placed in any refuse container. Residents shall dispose of these items by calling the Town Department of Public Safety for special direction or pickups.
   (D)   Acids, caustics and rapid oxidizers. Acids, caustics and rapid oxidizers, including chemicals used in swimming pools, shall not be disposed of in refuse containers. Residents shall dispose of such chemicals by calling the Director for containment instructions and special pickup.
