§ 92.30 MAUSOLEUMS, COLUMBARIUM, AND FAMILY LOTS.
   (A)   Construction materials.
      (1)   The construction and exterior surface of the mausoleum, columbarium, or family lot shall consist only of granite, with trim and hardware consisting of marble, hewn stone, glass, or rustproof metal such as bronze or steel in a natural, earth tone, or neutral-color shade. The total surface area of the exterior of a mausoleum shall consist of at least 90% granite surface, which shall include any portion of the exterior of the mausoleum that extends above grade level.
      (2)   The use of metals listed in division (A)(1) above is approved for doors and window grills of the mausoleums and other mausoleum fixtures and statuary, provided it has been produced or cast by a dealer approved by the Cemetery Advisory Board.
         (a)   Mixed metals shall not be used unless they are of substantially similar appearance and will achieve a similar patina upon weathering.
         (b)   Suppliers shall be required to certify as to the analysis of the metal used.
         (c)   No metals or other than those listed in division (A)(1) above are approved unless they are approved by the Cemetery Advisory Board as being substantially noncorrosive and of proven permanence.
      (3)   Bright or fluorescent colors are not allowed on the exterior of a mausoleum, columbarium, or family lot, or employ the use of applied materials on any visible surface except for caulk or other weather sealant necessary to preserve the exterior and prevent decay and water intrusion.
      (4)   Windows and other transparent openings installed shall be made of polycarbonate sheets, tempered glass, or other shatterproof glass.
   (B)   Required construction documents.
      (1)   Building and associated permits shall be required as determined by the Community Development Department.
      (2)   The officer may request documentation that the finished grade of the plot will evacuate water from the furnished plot to the nearest access road or swale designed for the purpose of collecting or evacuating water. Stormwater shall not be allowed to pool or sheet flow to a neighboring plot or unauthorized area.
      (3)   Mausoleums, columbariums, or family lots shall be constructed to the manufacturer’s specifications or in accordance with approved engineered plans.
      (4)   Construction on the sites will be done at the owner of the lot’s own risk.
      (5)   The owner of the lot must agree to indemnify the city for any injuries that occur due to the negligence of the owner and their contractors or subcontractors, both during and after the construction of any mausoleums, columbariums, or family lots.
   (C)   Design of mausoleums, columbariums, or family lots.
      (1)   The maximum height shall be 15 feet to the highest point of the structure and any object carved into the design and construction of the mausoleum, columbarium, or family lot including any spires and statuary, as measured from the average grade at the foundation of the structure.
      (2)   Roof style is limited to a flat roof, domed roof, or peaked roof with no more than two intersecting ridgelines or one ridgeline situated equidistant from and parallel to the sides of the structure. An alternative style of roof may be considered and approved by the Cemetery Advisory Board on a case-by-case basis.
      (3)   Columns utilized on the front or sides of the structure may be decorative or load bearing, but shall not exceed the height of the roof or the width of the structural foundation.
      (4)   Seating areas outside the structure shall be constructed of granite, marble, or cast bronze and must be within the space purchased. Seats shall be styled as benches.
      (5)   No structure of any kind, including but not limited to curbing, fencing, flagpoles, etc., shall be permitted upon any lot.
      (6)   Plantings will not be permitted on cemetery grounds.
   (D)   Location of mausoleums, columbariums, or family lots. Mausoleums, columbariums, or family lots may only be located in Rose Hill Section P.
