§ 110.020 CITY AMBULANCE SERVICE FEES.
   (A)   A fee shall be charged by the ambulance provider per trip for the transportation by ambulance of a person or persons to a hospital providing emergency medical aid, in response to a call received by the Fire Department for ambulance service. Such fee shall be established by ordinance.
   (B)   The person receiving ambulance service and any person contracting for the service shall be responsible for the payment of the fee. In the case of service received by a minor, the parent or guardian of the minor shall be responsible for the payment of the fee.
   (C)   The city may contract with a billing service entity for the collection of ambulance service fees.
   (D)   The following fees shall be assessed for emergency medical services:
      (1)   BLS non-emergency transport fee of $850 shall be assessed per person, per transport.
      (2)   BLS emergency transport fee of $1,100 shall be assessed per person, per transport.
      (3)   BLS oxygen therapy fee of $50 shall be assessed per person, per transport.
      (4)   BLS disposable medical supply fee of $75 shall be assessed per person, per transport.
      (5)   ALS non-emergency transport fee of $1,000 shall be assessed per person, per transport.
      (6)   ALS1 emergency transport fee of $1,500 shall be assessed per person, per transport.
      (7)   ALS2 emergency transport fee of $1,950 shall be assessed per person, per transport.
      (8)   ALS oxygen therapy fee of $50 shall be assessed per person, per transport.
      (9)   ALS disposable medical supply fee of $175 shall be assessed per person, per transport.
      (10)   An additional mileage fee of $25 per loaded mile shall be assessed.
      (11)   A critical care emergency transport fee of $5,500 shall be assessed per person, per transport, with an additional mileage fee of $50 per loaded mile shall be assessed during critical care transports.
      (12)   A fee of $100 per hour for ambulance/ALS unit standby shall be assessed for all standby requests.
      (13)   A fee of $200 shall be assessed for medical examiner requested transport.
   (E)   The City Manager or his or her designee shall implement an ambulance charity care policy and the procedure for administering the policy.
