§ 110.017 ONE AMBULANCE PROVIDER TO BE DESIGNATED.
In order to lessen congestion by emergency vehicles on the public streets and to facilitate the prompt dispatch of emergency ambulances when needed to protect life and health, it is determined that the City Council may designate one ambulance provider to provide emergency ambulance service for the city, pursuant to the procedure hereinafter provided, in addition to the emergency ambulance service that may be provided by the Cleburne Fire Department. If the City Council designates one sole ambulance provider, it shall do so pursuant to a request for proposal process that awards to the ambulance provider selected the right to provide all ambulance services in the city, except those specifically exempted by this chapter. When a sole ambulance provider has been so designated by the City Council, the city shall not issue ambulance permits to other ambulance service providers.
