(A) A funeral director or any other person conducting a funeral must contract, hire, employ, or provide at least two funeral escorts meeting the qualifications of this chapter to guide and escort any funeral cortege in the city. The escorts may be city law enforcement funeral escort vehicles, other law enforcement funeral escort vehicles, private funeral escort vehicles, or any combination thereof.
(B) The Chief has the sole discretion to determine whether the city will provide a city law enforcement funeral escort vehicle for any funeral cortege. The city has no obligation to provide such an escort.
