For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CHIEF.
The Chief of Police for the City of Cleburne, or the Chief's designee.
CITY LAW ENFORCEMENT FUNERAL ESCORT VEHICLE.
A passenger vehicle or motorcycle used by an on-duty law enforcement officer employed by the city and acting within the scope of the officer's employment and using city equipment to escort a funeral cortege.
FUNERAL CORTEGE.
Two or more vehicles accompanying the remains of a deceased person from a funeral establishment, church, synagogue, or other place where a funeral service has occurred to a cemetery, crematory, or other place of final disposition, or a funeral establishment, church, synagogue, or other place where additional funeral services will be performed.
OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT FUNERAL ESCORT VEHICLE.
A passenger vehicle or motorcycle used by a certified law enforcement officer employed by an agency other than the city, in official law enforcement uniform, and using a marked law enforcement passenger vehicle or motorcycle to escort a funeral cortege.
PRIVATE FUNERAL ESCORT AGENCY.
Any person engaged in the business of furnishing private funeral escort vehicles for hire that employs one or more persons as employees, assistants, clerks, or drivers.
PRIVATE FUNERAL ESCORT VEHICLE.
A passenger vehicle or motorcycle used by any person other than the driver of a city law enforcement funeral escort vehicle or other law enforcement funeral escort vehicle, whether the person is escorting the funeral cortege for hire or not.
