§ 91.021 POWERS AND DUTIES OF CITIZENS.
   Any person who finds an animal which he does not own on property that he owns or exercises control over or on public property may take control of said animal if it is at large and deliver the animal to an animal services officer or the Cleburne Animal Shelter. If the animal is not delivered to an animal services officer or to Cleburne Animal Shelter, the person must report that he has taken control of the animal to an animal services officer or the animal shelter within 72 hours. If the animal is wearing a tag of any kind or has a tattoo, brand, microchip or other identifying mark, that information shall be included in the report to the animal services officer or animal shelter. It shall be unlawful for a person to release, give away, sell, barter, or trade any found stray animal to another person that is not the owner of the animal.
