The Animal Services Manager or their designated deputies, or a peace officer, is authorized to:
(A) Kill an animal which poses an imminent danger to a person or property or a real or apparent necessity exists for destruction of the animal.
(B) Impound an animal which is diseased or endangers the health of a person or another animal.
(C) Destroy an impounded animal at the city shelter if the Animal Services Manager determines that recovery of the animal from injury, disease, or sickness, is improbable.
(D) Destroy any animal suspected of having rabies or evidencing a disposition to bite, when such animals are found at large, after having made a reasonable but unsuccessful effort to capture the animal.
(E) Destroy after three days of impoundment (not including the day of impoundment) or on the opinion of a licensed veterinarian, excluding those animals found with identification.
(F) Impound an animal which endangers the health and welfare of itself, another animal, or person.
