§ 91.026 REPORTING BITES FROM ANIMALS SUSCEPTIBLE TO RABIES.
   (A)   Duty to report. Any person having knowledge that an animal has bitten a human shall immediately report the incident to the Police Department or animal services division. Every physician or other medical practitioner who treats a person or persons for such bites shall within 24 hours report such treatment to the Police Department or Animal Services Division giving name, age, sex, and precise location of the bitten person or persons and such other information as the police or animal services officers may require.
   (B)   Exclusions. Human bites from rodents, rabbits, birds and reptiles are excluded from the reporting requirements of this section.
   (C)   Suspect rabies. Any veterinarian who clinically diagnoses rabies or any person who suspects rabies in a dog, cat or other domestic or wild animal shall immediately report the incident to the Police Department or animal services division stating precisely where such animal may be found. If a known or suspected rabid animal bites or attacks a human or a domestic animal, such incident shall also be reported as required.
