§ 93.12 FIRE PREVENTION DIVISION.
   (A)   Under direction of the Chief, the Fire Marshal shall supervise the Fire Prevention Division. Every member of the Fire Prevention Division shall satisfactorily complete the training and certification requirements as established by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Standards for Fire Protection Personnel for a Fire Inspector and the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Standards for Fire Protection Personnel for Fire Investigator I and Plans Examiner.
   (B)   The Fire Chief shall assign members to the Fire Marshal’s Office. The members of the Fire Prevention Division shall be empowered to enforce the provisions of the fire code, and to issue such permits as are required by the fire code, and to issue citations for violations of the fire code and city ordinances, and to investigate the cause, origin and circumstances of any fire, explosion or other condition deemed hazardous to life or property.
   (C)   The Fire Prevention Division shall conduct fire prevention education programs for the benefit of schools, businesses, commercial enterprises, industrial occupancies, hospitals, convalescent homes, churches and the general public in the interest of fire prevention and public safety.
