§ 93.02 OFFICE OF FIRE CHIEF.
   The Fire Department shall be administered by the Fire Chief, who shall be appointed by the city manager as prescribed by the city charter. The Fire Chief shall be responsible for the proper administration and operation of the Fire Department, subject to the supervision of the city manager and the regulations, policies, charter, ordinances of the city and the laws of the state. The Fire Chief shall promulgate rules, regulations and orders for the governing of the Fire Department in accordance with the city code of ordinances and city charter. The Fire Chief shall have exclusive control of the stationing, transfer and work scheduling of all firefighters and other officers and employees of the Fire Department in accordance with civil service law and city rules and regulations. The Fire Chief shall have the right to discipline any of the officers or employees of the department in accordance with Chapter 143 of the Local Government Code, city rules, policies, and regulations, and Fire Department rules and regulations and orders. The Fire Chief shall control all stations, buildings, apparatus, equipment and other property of the Fire Department or in the possession thereof.
