The Mayor is elected by all the qualified voters of the Town; is the official head of the Town government and presides at meetings of the Council; shall have the right to vote only when there is an equal division on any question or matter before Council; and shall exercise the powers and duties conferred by law or as directed by the Council. For the election year 2001 the term of office shall be two years. Beginning with election year 2003 and for each election cycle thereafter the term shall be four years.
