(A) Unless otherwise posted pursuant to an ordinance adopted by the Town Council and a concurring ordinance adopted by the North Carolina Department of Transportation, where required, and when appropriate signs are posted giving notice thereof, the speed limit on all streets within the corporate boundaries of the town shall be as established by G.S. 20-141 and all applicable subdivisions thereof. (B) The speed limit on all streets inside the municipal corporate limits is reduced from 35 to 25 miles per hour. Speed limits set pursuant to this division (B) shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected.
