A. General Violations: A business that (1) fails to obtain a license prior to conducting business, (2) intentionally makes false statements on an application, (3) continues to operate a business despite the revocation of a business license, or (4) otherwise violates any requirement of this chapter shall subject the business to a fine of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per day. Each day constitutes a separate violation.
B. Failure to Renew: Failure to renew a business license by February 1 shall subject the business to a fine of ten percent (10%) of the applicable fee category for each month the business is in violation.
C. The fines described in subsections (A) and (B) are in addition to any other penalty or fine located in this code, including the Penalty for Code Violations described under City Code § 1-4-1.
D. The City Manager has discretion to reduce or waive fines and penalties for violations of this chapter described in subsection (A), subsection (B), and subsection (C) based on substantial compliance, mitigating circumstances, a history of compliance, or prompt corrective action in response to a notice of violation.
