It shall be unlawful to permit any dog, cat (excluding a community cat), or other animal to run at large within the corporate limits of the town. Any dog, cat (excluding a community cat), or other animal running at large within the town may be impounded, however, working dogs, such as lead dogs, such as lead dogs, guard dogs, farm dogs, hunting dogs, and other similar dogs that are trained, need not be leashed when under the reasonable control of their owner. The owner of the dog, cat (excluding a community cat), or other animal may be cited to appear in the town court and shall be subject to a fine as set forth in § 91.999 per occurrence.
