§ 36.116 POLICE NON-REVERTING FUND FOR FEDERAL FORFEITED MONIES.
   (A)   A non-reverting fund is hereby established titled Clarksville Police Non-Reverting Fund for Federal Forfeited Monies. The fund is established for the purpose of receiving, holding and dispersing monies that have been received by the Police Department from United States law enforcement agencies as a result of forfeitures made by United States law enforcement activities. The Police Department shall deposit monies that have been received by it from United States law enforcement agencies as a result of forfeitures into this fund.
   (B)   Following an inventory and accounting of this fund, the Clarksville Police Department may use funds from the Clarksville Police Non-Reverting Fund for Federal Forfeited Monies for reasonable and necessary police department expenditures for safety equipment and safety related purposes as allowed by law. Monies from the Clarksville Police Non-Reverting Fund for Federal Forfeited Monies may be dispersed without appropriation in payment after:
      (1)   The filing of a proper claim; and
      (2)   The issuance of a warrant by the Clerk-Treasurer.
   (C)   Authorization for the fund shall expire when the Police Department notifies the Town Council that the purposes of the fund no longer exist or a subsequent ordinance so provides and any funds remaining in the account shall be transferred to the General Fund.
