§ 32.55 FILM PRODUCTION PERMIT.
The City of Claremore recognizes the value, in terms of economic impact, as well as cultural and social development and enrichment of the city, in recruiting film production companies, production managers and location scouts to the City of Claremore. Film production crews present a unique opportunity to attract economic development and serve as a great promotional tool by showcasing the city as a residential and tourist attraction. Representatives from a film production company who are interested in filming in the City of Claremore must submit a permit application to the City Clerk's office.
   (A)   Upon receipt of a completed and signed application, representatives will meet with the SEC to coordinate services and review needs before a permit is granted.
   (B)   The SEC representatives will review the plans to ensure the event complies with city codes and the objectives of the SEC.
   (C)   The committee will address areas which do not comply with the city code or objectives. Film production managers will be required to meet codes and standards before a permit will be issued.
   (D)   The SEC may present additional areas of concern to the film production manager or require applicants to present their film and programming before additional boards when necessary.
   (E) The SEC will advise and make a report to the City Manager in order for the City Manager to decide on the film permit. The City Manager shall review the report from the SEC and decide as to whether city funds should be allocated pursuant to the proposed permit application.
   (F)   Applicants may appeal recommendations of the City Manager to the City Council. The City Council shall review the proposed permit application along with the recommendations by the City Manager and the SEC at a hearing with the applicant.
