The City of Claremore recognizes the value, in terms of economic impact, as well as cultural and social development and enrichment of the city, in attracting festivals, film production, and events to the City of Claremore. These events present a unique opportunity to attract economic development and to advertise and promote the city as a residential and tourist destination. The Special Events Committee (SEC) will merely be a recommending body to the City Manager to prepare and advise Council of upcoming events and the potential benefits of using events or film productions to promote the city and stimulate the city’s economy. This subchapter shall apply to any use of city resources to promote special events, including the use of city staff hours paid and in-kind services.
