(a) Fire hydrants shall conform to AWW A C502 and to the following requirements:
(1) Nozzles. Two 2-1/2-inch hose and one 5-inch Storz connections.
(2) Nozzle threads. “Claremont Standard.”
(3) Main valve diameter. Five and one-quarter inch.
(4) Minimum depth of bury. Forty- two inches.
(5) Inlet connection. Six-inch mechanical joint.
(6) Open counterclockwise (open left).
(7) Close with water pressure.
(8) O-ring seals.
(9) Traffic model with frangible sections near the ground line designed to break on impact.
(10) Provide extension for hydrant standpipe as required to set centerline of hydrant nozzle a minimum of 15 inches and a maximum of 24 inches above grade.
(11) Exterior color above ground line shall match Claremont's standard at the time of installation.
(12) Hydrants shall be Mueller Super Centurion 250, specific model to be specified by City Fire Department.
