§ 14-302 OPERATION OF SPECIAL PURPOSE VEHICLES ON CITY STREET, SPECIAL CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS OF OPERATIONS.
   Special purpose vehicles may be operated upon public highways, streets, roads and alleys within the corporate limits of the city subject to the following restrictions.
   (a)   No special purpose vehicle may be operated upon any public highway, street, road or alley with a posted speed in excess of 30 mph.
   (b)   No special purpose vehicle shall be operated on any interstate highway, federal highway or state highway; provided, however, that the provisions of this division (b) shall not prohibit a special purpose vehicle from crossing a federal or state highway with a posted speed limit greater than 30 mph.
   (c)   No all-terrain vehicle or micro utility vehicle shall be operated on any public highway, street, road or alley within the corporate limits of the city unless such vehicle complies with the equipment requirements under K.S.A. Ch. 8, Art. 17, and amendments thereto.
   (d)   No golf cart shall be operated on any public highway, street, road or alley between sunset and sunrise, provided however, that golf cart equipped with all lighting equipment required for motor vehicles as set out in the Standard Traffic Ordinance of the City of Claflin, Kansas, and approved by the Chief of Police or his or her designee.
   (e)   It shall be unlawful to operate a golf cart or work site utility vehicle on any public highway, street, road or alley within the corporate limits of the city unless such vehicle displays a slow moving vehicle emblem on the rear of the vehicle; the slow moving vehicle emblem shall be mounted and displayed in compliance with K.S.A. 8-1717, and amendments thereto.
   (f)   Work site utility vehicles shall only be operated upon the public highways, street, roads and alleys within the corporate limits of the city when the operator of said vehicle is traveling to an employment related work-site by the most direct route.
